So...I've been thinking a lot about trying to get this started back up again, but Dawn beat me to it. Here is an email that I received from her earlier today.

Hi Girls,

The night is young....

and so are we! So, let's get together! It's been so crazy with the end of the school year and sports commitments, that girls' night has been shoved into a "to do" pile. Well, cross it off your list, because we are going to meet for a girls' night get together. It's going to be simple and you can stay as long (or as short) as you want. Here are the details:

Stay and get dinner, or pie, or dinner and pie. It's $6.99 pie month, so you can take a pie home to your whole family!

We're back on!

After taking a few months hiatus, we are back. And Dawn Farrell is the host this month. Here is the info about the upcoming event on Tuesday, November 18th.

You're invited to start getting fat & jolly early this holiday season! Girls' Night (November) is a cookie exchange. Come and enjoy appetizers, hot cider and sample all those decadent cookies.

With the giving season coming upon us fast, let's share more than our cookies. Let's share our support. Please bring a monetary contribution to go into a cookie jar. The proceeds will be donated to the Utah Food Bank.

Please bring 6 dozen cookies, candies, cakes (whatever's mouth watering you would like to share). Don't panic! Six dozen is really only one batch of a large yield recipe or two batches of a smaller one. Don't have time to bake? Did you ruin your recipe? Still want to attend? You can buy six dozen cookies from a bakery. Arrange cookies in a basket or on a platter (using your diva creativity, of course!). Please bring your recipe(s). They will be compiled into a book and delivered to you.... just in time for the holiday baking season. Also, please bring a large container to take your cookies home. Use your own discretion when deciding how much you would like to share with the others in your house!

Although certainly not required, wearing your favorite hostess apron and pearls is definitely encouraged! There will be a prize for the "best" apron.If you can not attend, but would like to exchange cookies, you may deliver your cookies (with your recipe(s)) the day before the party. I would be delighted to exchange them for you. Please encourage others (who do not normally come) to attend. Simply add them as a guest on your RSVP.

Bunko Time Again!

Okay, so we are going to try this again. For some of you this is new; for most of you this is a do over. The original date for this evening was September 18th, but I have a Stake Leadership Meeting that night, so I was going to change it to the next week on the 25th, but there is Pack Meeting. So, Tuesday the 30th it is. This is a fifth Tuesday, so I hope nothing is scheduled.

Here we go...Come to a fun, exciting, no gambling, non-controversial, come as you are night of game playing and chitchat. We will be playing BUNCO. You do not need to know how to play, we will teach you. Just pure fun and giddiness with the girls. (We have all heard of those other bunco groups - there will be no monetary displays or prizes awarded ; } ). I promise to have lots and lots of sugary, high fat snacks and diet soda of course!

Update on GNO

So I saw Robyn at Wendy's last Friday and asked her about Girls Night this month. I know that it was tentatively rescheduled for September 25th, but I don't think that is going to work. Instead she was thinking about doing it on Sept. 30th and she was going to send around another evite to everyone. So watch for that and I soon as I hear anything, I'll be sure to pass it on.

Great Deals!

I was just informed of some great deals going on this week. They are for Lagoon and Raging Waters. Both are buy one admission and get one free. If you go to Lagoon you just have to mention that you are a KUTV viewer at the ticket window. It's normally $39.99 per person so this is a great deal. It is going on all this week, which is also the last full week that they will be open. Beginning Sunday they are only going to be open on weekends through the end of Frightmares.

The other good deal is on Wednesday only at Raging Waters. They are having a 2 for $20 admission. Their normal cost is $18 each, so this is almost a 2 for 1. I haven't been to Raging Waters for years, so we may end up going.
